Dr. Morrison is a native of Alexandria and honors graduate of Bolton High School. He attended LSU in Baton Rouge and graduated cum laude with a degree in Microbiology. He received his medical degree from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans where he was awarded the G. Gordon McHardy award for outstanding graduate in Gastroenterology, as well as being selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Following medical school he completed his internship and residency in internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by Gastroenterology Fellowship at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. He then moved back home to Alexandria in 1995 where he practiced in a multispecialty group unti May 2010 when he founded Alexandria Gastrointestinal Specialists, LLC.
He is board certified in Gastroenterology and a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His primary hospital affiliation is with the Central Louisiana Surgical hospital and Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, where he is medical Director of the GI Endoscopy lab.
